Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a skilled Battery R&D Technician to join a leading client's team in San Jose, CA. This position is fully on-site and focuses on supporting solid-state battery development. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in cell fabrication, materials processing, and lab management.
ResponsibilitiesA R&D Technician supports solid-state battery development by executing cell fabrication, processing materials, and managing lab operations. Key responsibilities include running experiments with scientists, following standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documenting test results.
Core Responsibilities
- Cell Fabrication & Testing: Build coin cells, pouch cells, or proprietary solid-state devices following strict SOPs.
- Experiment Support: Partner with engineers and scientists on materials processing, metrology, and lab experiments.
- Data & Documentation: Record experimental data, track inventory, and report anomalies or results using MS Office or internal tools.
- Lab Maintenance: Keep a clean, safe workspace and maintain equipment or supplies.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory, R&D, or process manufacturing environment.
- Physical & Environmental: Ability to work in a dry room, fume hood, or glovebox requiring fine motor skills and lifting up to 15-25 lbs.
- Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, team-focused, and able to communicate observations clearly.
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the battery industry or hi-tech device assembly.
- Knowledge of failure analysis, ceramic coatings, or microscope-scale product.
Saturday through Tuesday, 6:30 PM- 6:30 AM
BenefitsPay: $29-$46/hr depending on years of experience with 3rd shift differential
Additional DetailsFully on-site in San Jose, CA. Max pay is $46. Min pay is $29.
