PhD Intern Opportunity

Our research team works on cutting-edge projects in computer graphics and AI, focusing on practical and publishable innovations that advance state-of-the-art techniques. We are looking for a passionate and talented PhD intern to join our research team. The ideal candidate is highly motivated with strong fundamentals in graphics and modern ML, hands-on implementation ability, and demonstrated potential for impactful publications. Research  & Inverse Rendering, and Spatial AI for Graphics.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct original research in computer graphics and AI, including neural rendering and real-time graphics, as well as related directions such as Generative 3D, World Models, Spatial AI for Graphics, differentiable/inverse rendering, real-time 3D reconstruction, NeRF/3D Gaussian Splatting, and learning-based denoising/super-resolution—covering conceptualization through implementation and evaluation.
  • Identify state-of-the-art (SOTA) techniques by performing systematic literature reviews and benchmarking existing methods to inspire new ideas.
  • Write research papers and publish findings in top-tier graphics/vision/ML venues (e.g., SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia, EGSR, TOG, TVCG, CVPR/ICCV/ECCV, NeurIPS/ICLR as appropriate).
Requirements
  • PhD student in Computer Science / Computer Graphics / Computer Vision / Machine Learning or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of computer graphics fundamentals (rendering pipeline, ray tracing, sampling/denoising, geometry/BRDF, reconstruction) and solid ML foundations.
  • Strong programming skills, with hands-on experience in Python + PyTorch and ability to build reproducible research code.
  • Proven experience in conducting original research, with at least one publication in a peer-reviewed conference/journal (graphics/vision/ML preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have)
  • Experience with NeRF / 3

    DGS / SLAM / multi-view stereo / implicit representations.
  • Experience with real-time constraints (latency, streaming, compression, profiling, GPU memory optimization).
  • Experience with C++ and GPU programming (CUDA/RTX/DXR/Vulkan/OpenGL).

Hourly interns pay range: $18 to $59, depending on degree-seeking academic program (PhD, Master's, Bachelor's, etc.), years of relevant experience, year in school, geographic location, credentials, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Housing allowance and relocation benefit might be provided to intern candidates who meet the qualifications. Additional details on the compensation package will be provided to candidates during the interview process.
