We are seeking a talented and motivated Peptide Chemist to join our dynamic research and development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an early-career scientist to engage in the end-to-end process of peptide synthesis, purification, and analytical characterization. Monday
- Friday: 1:00PM-9:00 PM

• Synthesis, purification, and optimization of potent, stable peptides, and contribute to the discovery of novel target peptides.
• Analysis and interpretation of complex data (MS, HPLC) to confirm peptide identity and purity.
• Collaborate with scientists to interpret complex data, binding affinity, selectivity, and physiochemical properties.
• Follow troubleshooting protocols and conduct laboratory experiments to optimize peptide synthesis, purification, and formulations.
• Maintain automated peptide synthesizers, HPLC, and LC-MS systems and ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Maintain rigorous and well-documented experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), ensure data integrity, and reproducibility.

• MS in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry or a related field with 0-3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Experience with peptides:
  Hands-on experience with solid phase synthesis of peptides, advanced purification techniques, and downstream characterization is essential.
• Analytical techniques:
  Proficient in techniques such as HPLC, MS.
• Experience with software to perform molecular modeling, ligand analysis, and interpreting modeling data to guide peptide design would be a plus.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to address complex challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey scientific and technical information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Attention to Detail:
  Ensures accuracy in processing and handling samples.
• Problem-Solving:
  Uses creativity and logic to tackle lab challenges and develop effective solutions.
• Adaptability:
  Remains agile and open to new tools, technologies, and methods.

• Occasional lifting and carrying required. Should be ablet to lift or carry up to 50lbs.
• Standing/Sitting for prolonged periods of time during the day.
• Flexibility required to accommodate workload and deadlines.
• Follow lab safety protocols:
  Wear lab coats, gowns, PPE as needed for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work with hazardous chemicals and dispose of them safely.
• Ability to operate and maintain machinery involved in the chemical processes.
• Working with refrigerators and freezers (4°C to
  -80°C).

The salary range for this position is $$90,000 to $110,000 per year, in accordance with California’s pay transparency laws. Final compensation will be determined based on the experience, skill and qualifications.
