- Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management, and ARC merchandising standards.
- Assumes responsibility for all day‑to‑day store operations, including personnel and cash handling, in the absence of the Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager. Discuss concerns with the District Sales Manager.
- Assists Store Manager to monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability as projected by budget and goals set by Command Retail Directors and Command Administration.
- Schedules store employees, coordinates shift change meetings, and provides coaching, training, and development to staff when the Store Manager and Assistant Manager are absent. Processes paperwork per Review Standards, especially regarding time and attendance compliance.
- Ensures high levels of customer and donor satisfaction through excellent service while maintaining good community relations and developing strategies to improve service.
- Supports Back Room Processors/Warehouse Associates to meet daily processing goals.
- Supervises program beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are implemented.
- Protects and secures store currency, inventory, and property, including daily logging of cash deposits, bank deposits, and building security.
- Ensures building security during non‑operating hours with alarm system arming and alert protocol.
- Maintains safety measures in accordance with ARC policy and government regulations and reports incidents immediately. Assists with mandatory weekly store meetings.
- May be transferred or relocated to other stores based on business needs.
- Completes all tasks assigned by the District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors, and Command Administration.
- Provide customers with the best selection, exceptional service, and well‑organized stores to support spiritual, social, and rehabilitation programs.
- Meet store sales and income budget expectations while managing expenses to maximize profitability.
- Create a positive, mentoring environment for beneficiaries through collaboration with program staff.
- Implement effective Work Therapy Assignments and keep beneficiaries focused on improvement areas.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one year of previous retail experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Must pass a background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, customers, and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, carts, fixtures, and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
- Problem solving – Identify and resolve problems promptly; gather, analyze information, and develop solutions.
- Oral communication – Speak professionally, clearly, and persuasively; seek clarification and respond appropriately.
- Written communication – Write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; present numerical data accurately; read and interpret written information.
- Teamwork – Balance team and individual responsibilities; build a positive team spirit, morale, and commitment to established goals and values.
Stores operate seven days per week. Work schedules are determined by management, and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate coverage, including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
