SUMMARY
The Retail Shift Lead plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the retail location during their assigned shift. The shift lead is the point of contact for Budtender and customer questions. The role focuses on providing excellent customer service, inventory management, and promoting a positive work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provides excellent customer experience.
- Accurately log customer in computer systems.
- Accurate records customer transactions in POS system.
- Ensure all technology platforms are updated with the most current information (specials, events, marketing materials).
- Handles all returns, exchanges and employee purchases.
- Ensures inventory controller is notified of all returns so this may be communicated to the vendor and product replaced or credit given.
- Ensures all opening and closing duties are completed and the venue is completely secured before departing at night or opening in the morning.
- Ensures that all phases of the customer experience remain seamless and exceed their expectations.
- Appropriately authorizes discounts and other changes on sales receipts.
- Ensures all display cases have uniform offerings and accurate labeling.
- Executes marketing efforts as directed by the Retail Leadership team.
- Ensures proper ambiance and cleanliness within venue at all times.
- Keeps up to date on locations daily/weekly sales, promotions, and discounts.
- Assists in the training of new employees or processes.
- Oversees the floor to ensure staff is on task at all times.
- Maintains proper cash-handling procedures at all times.
- Accurately distributes cash tips to tip-pooling employees.
- Accurately accounts for all cash and points out cash variances.
- Reports personnel issues to manager.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Understands and adheres to all city and state cannabis regulations.
- Maintains professionalism in appearance, approach, and communication.
- Adapts to a changing work environment.

- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; prioritize and organize; remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand guest needs; work cohesively and professionally with co-workers; be motivated, hardworking, and passionate about cannabis; handle multiple responsibilities; and be flexible across departments.
- Constantly walking, standing, grasping/gripping, bending/stooping/squatting, finger dexterity, POS input, and coordination of hand and eye.
- Frequently in face contact with customers and staff.
- Occasionally reaching above shoulder height, lifting 50 lbs., and performing push/pull motions, with accommodations upon request.
- Working varied hours/day, including nights, weekends, holidays, and/or events on occasion.
- Occasionally overnight shifts between 9pm-5am.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior retail or customer service experience (1-3 years).
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, with advanced knowledge in Excel.
- Must be 21+ years old and pass a criminal background check requirement.
