Smart & Final invites candidates to join their store operations team at 1783 Hillsdale Avenue, San Jose, California. The role is part‑time with a starting pay rate of $19.70 a hour.

• Maintain and stock assigned store sections using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment).
• Ensure accurate pricing, verify product date codes for proper rotation, and manage shelf, end displays, floor stacks, and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale as needed.
• Set up and update advertising/promotional displays.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot as directed by store management.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers, offering current store and product information.
• Assist customers with loading purchases into vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and supplies using appropriate tools.

• Read and write English, interact with the general public and coworkers.
• Understand simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one or small group settings to customers, clients, and coworkers.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills (extra).
