About the RoleBearing Engineering is seeking a driven Territory Account Manager to manage and grow an assigned territory from our San Jose branch.
This position is responsible for developing new business, strengthening existing customer relationships, and driving profitable sales growth across Bearing Engineering’s product and service lines.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated sales professional who enjoys managing an established book of business, identifying new opportunities, solving customer challenges, and building long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and grow an assigned sales territory by developing new business and retaining and expanding existing accounts.
- Build strong customer relationships and gain an understanding of each customer’s operations, applications, and business needs.
- Recommend appropriate industrial products, services, and solutions.
- Conduct regular in-person customer visits, site surveys, product presentations, and demonstrations.
- Identify prospective customers and develop strategies for penetrating target accounts.
- Collaborate with branch personnel, inside sales representatives, product specialists, and manufacturer partners to provide a seamless customer experience.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, account plans, sales forecasts, and other customer documentation.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and monitor territory activity, opportunities, and performance.
- Stay current on market conditions, competitor activity, industry trends, and product developments.
- Meet or exceed established sales, revenue, and margin goals.
- Demonstrated success in outside sales, account management, business development, or territory management.
- Experience in industrial distribution, power transmission, bearings, material handling, fluid power, motors, controls, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend practical, value-driven solutions.
- Ability to organize and manage customer activity across a defined territory with limited supervision.
- Strong time-management, planning, and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with internal teams, product specialists, and manufacturer representatives.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and other standard business technology.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent industrial sales or distribution experience will also be considered.
- Base salary of $75, per year, commensurate with experience.
