As a Security Guard - Unarmed Patrol in San Jose, CA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, amenities, and parking areas, stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with clear communication and professionalism. You will document observations, support access control points, and collaborate with residents and property staff.

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor and vendor check-in processes according to site procedures, including verifying authorization and directing individuals to the appropriate location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing disturbances, disputes, and policy violations, and requesting assistance from public responders when needed.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, and resident or staff requests in required reports and/or logs, and communicate relevant updates to site management and Allied Universal supervision.

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
