Security Officer Patrol and Access Control
Location: San Jose, CA
Position Type: Part Time
Pay Rate: $22.95 / Hour
Job Schedule: Wed 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM, Thur 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM
As a Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter incidents, and support access awareness across the property.
What You’ll Do- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting details and communicating with property management or emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout office buildings, lobbies, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unwanted activity and report maintenance, lighting, and property concerns.
- Monitor entrances, common areas, and assigned posts while assisting with visitor directions, policy awareness, and other support functions aligned with site expectations.
- Prepare clear, timely reports of observations, incidents, and unusual activity, and relay important information during shift changes to support consistent site coverage.
- At least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Minimum age: 18 for unarmed roles, 21 for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to background investigation and drug screening per legal requirements.
- Will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in accordance with applicable laws.
- Licensing requirements may be required by state or local law.
- Valid driver’s license required only for driving positions.
