Position Summary

The Field Technician Level 1 is responsible for performing field installations, removals and programming of small "smart" water meters for residential customers. This role includes operating within a Work Order Management System (WOMS) to open and close work orders, as well as maintaining related equipment such as meter boxes, lids and fittings.

Technicians must adhere to all safety procedures, utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow company safety policies at all times. Concord provides full training for this position — prior experience is beneficial but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remove, install, and program small "smart" water meters for residential utility customers.
  • Operate the company’s Work Order Management System (WOMS) to manage daily assignments.
  • Replace or repair meter boxes, lids, and fittings as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and company equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude while working independently and within a team environment.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Leads, Managers, and customers when necessary.
  • Meet or exceed daily and weekly productivity goals with an emphasis on quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability in attendance and reporting.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and follow training guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

  • Previous hands‑on experience in construction, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, or related fields.
  • Prior use of handheld devices or work order systems.

Work Environment
  • In-person, outdoor fieldwork across various residential and project locations.
