Installation Technician

Our customer is relocating to a new office and needs a Cable Technician/ Security Technician to support a 2week project involving the removal, relocation, and reinstallation of physical security and access control devices. The technician will work with an established team to deinstall equipment at the existing site, pull and remove cabling, and reinstall all systems at the new location. Will need own hand tools.

Will meet at the site and carpool to the sites.

Responsibilities
Remove existing security equipment, including:
IP surveillance cameras
Card readers
Magnetic locks
Pull, label, and remove existing access control cabling
Install and wire security devices at the new office location
Terminate and test CAT5/CAT6 cabling (must be proficient and supply own hand tools)
Perform punch downs and terminations
Wire door hardware and access control components per project specs
Maintain organized work areas and follow all safety procedures
Collaborate effectively with onsite technicians and project leads

Required Skills & Experience
Experience installing and servicing IP cameras, mag locks, card readers, and door hardware
Strong low voltage cable installation and termination skills
Ability to terminate CAT5/CAT6 and complete clean punch downs
Must have personal hand tools (snips, punchdown tool, crimpers, testers, etc.)
Ability to read wiring diagrams and device layouts

Comfortable working in active construction/renovation environments

* Pay and Benefits
* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
