Position Overview

We are seeking an Electronics Technician 2 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. In this role you will design, engineer, integrate, operate and maintain electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers.

Responsibilities
  • Execute technical tasks and responsibilities within field operations. Perform on‑site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems. Ensure functionality and reliability of technology. Conduct site surveys, configure hardware and software, test systems, and provide technical support.
  • Utilize and comprehend project safety plans (JHA, AHA, PFW), enforcing adherence to M.C. Dean handbook and policies.
  • Analyze and interpret complete M.C. Dean drawing packages to assess constructability, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify correct charges in timesheets on projects, executing installation and maintenance activities within planned durations.
  • Track and inventory tools, conduct consistent tool inspections and perform tool inventory at the end of each day for assigned tools and equipment.
  • Participate in 10‑minute daily ORM meetings, ensuring team compliance with safety requirements.
  • Participate in PITCO plan creation and build‑out, executing PITCO plan to include testing to verify high quality.
  • Install system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and all mounting hardware components, ensuring proper grounding and adherence to NEC standards.
  • Terminate, test, and configure electronic devices, network and IT equipment.
  • Rack and stack head‑end equipment, terminate and perform cable terminations and accessories associated with industry standards.
  • Communicate consistently with MC Dean project teams, exhibiting dedication, punctuality, and preparedness for work.
  • Act as a collaborative teammate, providing and absorbing constructive feedback with both internal and external customers in a positive manner.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks effectively, understanding and embodying M.C. Dean vision, mission, and values.
  • Survey and document existing field conditions, providing feedback and recommendations to the project team.

Key Requirements
  • Requires a valid driver’s license. This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with our policy.
Education
  • HS diploma or GED is required.
Progressive Experience
  • 4+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
