About This RoleWe are looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator for our San Jose, CA location.
Location:
San Jose, CA.
Pay: $27-35 per hour.
Position Responsibilities- Operate all heavy machinery in a safe manner.
- Dig trenches, back‑fill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications.
- Transport materials and equipment.
- Load and unload equipment and material as needed.
- Follow all on‑site safety procedures.
- Ensure contents and equipment are properly secured during transportation.
- Comply with all DOT regulations and rules.
- Perform daily vehicle pre‑trip inspections and job hazard analysis.
- Valid CDL class
A. - Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery.
- Clean driving record with no more than two tickets in the last five years.
- Strong focus on quality and safety.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
This full‑time hourly position requires at least 40 hours per week and involves primarily outdoor work exposed to varying weather conditions—including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. Operations occur in a mix of urban and rural settings and may involve exposure to natural gas, electrical shock risks, and moderate to loud noise levels.
Physical RequirementsThe employee must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours), tolerate extreme weather, communicate safety instructions, and regularly lift up to 75 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
