Job Title

The Departmental Council of Val d'Oise is recruiting a general maintenance worker for buildings and green spaces.

The general maintenance worker for buildings and green spaces ensures the safety and maintenance of buildings and their equipment. They maintain the functionality, organize preventive maintenance, and perform first-level corrective work in various building trades. They also maintain green spaces. Regarding safety:
• Verify the proper functioning of fire safety and access control systems.
• Ensure a preventive role through the implementation of the Particular Safety Plan concerning the safety of people.
• Use digital tools provided by the community: meter readings, occasional trips, participation in school life, supervision, and follow-up of external expertise during interventions. Regarding building maintenance:
• Ensure the safety of their worksite, diagnose malfunctions, and check the general condition of installations.
• Change materials, according to qualification, concerning electricity, plumbing, locksmithing, and masonry-painting.
• Maintain the workshop and tools (cleaning, organizing, storing products). Regarding green spaces:
• Maintain lawns and hedges and manage green waste.

Education level: CAP minimum (ideally in a building field: painting, electricity, carpentry, plumbing) or several years of experience in the building field. General education level/professional titles required – required. Fire safety training desired. Driver's license required.

You are an organized, methodical person who shows rigor in your work. You have a good analytical capacity to evaluate situations at risk for the public and staff. You work well in a team as well as independently, show responsiveness, and have an initiative spirit, especially in urgent situations.

Art. L332-14 of the General Code of Public Service - A contractual employee may be recruited for this position while waiting for the recruitment of a civil servant. The proposed contract may not exceed one year, renewable for a total duration of 2 years.
