Field Tech nician - PSS

About This Role
This role is responsible for programming, commissioning, testing, and validating fire alarm systems to ensure they meet project requirements, code compliance, and customer expectations. The position will program, modify , and troubleshoot new and existing fire alarm systems, including system expansions, upgrades, and programming revisions. You will ensure all installed systems are properly programmed, thoroughly tested, accurately documented, and ready for acceptance.
Working closely with project teams and installation contractors, you will identify and resolve deficiencies, verify installation quality, support acceptance testing activities, and ensure successful project turnover and closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, modify , troubleshoot, and configure new and existing fire alarm systems, including EST3, EST4, and Fire Works platforms, system expansions, upgrades, and programming revisions. Review existing programs and system databases to verify proper operation and implement required corrections or enhancements
- Perform system commissioning, programming verification, functional testing, and validation of fire alarm systems (Edwards/EST preferred)
- Execute comprehensive device-level and system-level testing, including network communications and integrated system functionality
- Verify installation quality and ensure systems are fully operational, code-compliant, and ready for turnover and final acceptance
- Communicate project status, risks, deficiencies, and critical issues to Project Management in a timely manner
- Maintain compliance with NFPA requirements, applicable local codes, company safety standards, and customer expectations
- Support project closeout activities by providing accurate documentation, test results, programming records, and deficiency reports
- Willingness to travel (50% or more, based on project needs)

Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 10+ years’ experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems
- Valid driver's license required
