Solar Roof Lead

Simply Solar is seeking a Solar Roof Lead to oversee residential and light commercial rooftop solar installations. In this hands-on role, you'll lead a small crew, ensuring safe work practices, high-quality craftsmanship, and on-time project completion. You will interpret plans, lay out racking, flashing, and modules, coordinate with electricians, and perform quality checks and basic troubleshooting. The Solar Roof Lead will train junior installers, communicate respectfully with homeowners, document site conditions, and uphold Simply Solar's standards for safety, customer education, and clean energy outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day rooftop solar installation activities on residential and light commercial projects
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including fall protection and OSHA guidelines
• Interpret plans and layouts to install racking, flashing, and solar modules to specification
• Coordinate with electricians and project managers to keep projects on schedule
• Perform quality checks and basic troubleshooting of system performance or installation issues
• Train and mentor junior installers on best practices, safety, and craftsmanship
• Inspect roofs and site conditions to confirm structural suitability and identify risks
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, answering basic questions about their system
• Document project progress, site conditions, and any changes in field reports or apps
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean, safe working condition
