Solar Service Technician

Simply Solar is seeking a Solar Service Technician to maintain and repair residential and light commercial solar PV systems across California. In this role, you'll troubleshoot performance issues, replace components, perform preventive maintenance, and complete safety and quality checks. You'll work on rooftops and ground mounts, use electrical testing tools, and document all service visits clearly. Partner with customer support and installation teams to resolve issues efficiently and educate customers on system performance, care, and energy savings.

This position is ideal for a hands-on technician passionate about clean energy and excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial solar PV system issues
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and performance testing
• Service inverters, optimizers, wiring, and balance-of-system components
• Work safely on roofs using proper fall protection and safety practices
• Document service visits, findings, and resolutions in work order systems
• Coordinate with customer support and installation teams to resolve complex issues
• Educate customers on system performance, maintenance, and energy savings
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in safe working condition
