Job Overview

Part‑time Independent Living - Life Skills Coach

Location:

San Jose and surrounding areas.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (occasionally Saturday).

$22 per hour.

Benefits are available to full‑time employees only and include, but are not limited to:

• Coach clients on building independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting, and hygiene.
• Encourage, motivate, and support clients with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges.
• Plan, create, and organize weekly goals and schedules tailored to each client.
• Maintain consistent documentation of progress through case notes and quarterly reports.
• Allocate 90% of time in the field with clients and 10% to administrative/documentation tasks.
• Collaborate with program managers, regional center coordinators, and training staff.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work and commute in and around the San Jose area.
• Pass a background check in accordance with state industry standards.
• Computer literacy: MS Word, email, and basic data entry.

• Strong communicator who values dignity and respect for all individuals.
• Dependable, creative problem‑solver with a compassionate attitude.
• Flexible with hours and adaptable to varying client needs.
• Comfortable working independently in one‑on‑one settings.
• Experience in behavioral health (preferred but not required).
