Full Stack Developer (Remote)
Location: San Jose, California (Remote)
Key Responsibilities- Continuously refine business operations practices and processes.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust web-based business applications.
- Employ solid development practices throughout the software lifecycle.
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a skilled development team.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects to meet critical deadlines.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and actively mentor the software development team.
- Demonstrate motivation, self-starting initiative, and a results-driven approach, taking pride in high-quality work.
- Actively teach and mentor colleagues, developing necessary support materials.
- Serve as a key point of contact, engaging directly with client Partners.
- Maintain skilled communication, working effectively across varied time zones, diverse cultures, 3rd party relationships, and various client functions and groups.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (BSEE, CSEE).
- 8+ total years of professional experience in web application design and development.
- Extensive in full stack LAMP development utilizing PHP, including designing, developing, testing, and debugging highly available web applications.
- Proven ability to design and implement high-performance RESTful web services.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL and relational database concepts, including database performance optimization techniques.
- Experience utilizing caching and search technologies such as Elastic Search and Memcached.
- Profound knowledge of Java script and JQuery.
- Strong experience in frontend development using HTML/CSS and the Bootstrap framework.
- Good working knowledge of the Linux operating system.
- Preferably, vast experience working with PHP and associated libraries.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern development practices.
- Strong implementation and problem-solving skills, utilizing structured approaches to resolve complex issues and recommend effective resolutions.
The annual salary for this position ranges between $99,000 to $110,000, dependent on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
