Sr Software Engineer - Backend

Senior Software Engineer – Backend: design and build scalable backend services and data systems that power the company’s global finance platform. Focus on Java, Python, SQL, and data engineering. Work with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance solutions and leverage AI tools such as Git Hub Copilot for faster, smarter development.

• Deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including design, implementation, testing, delivery, and operations.
• Advises immediate management on project‑level issues.
• Guides junior engineers.
• Operates with little day‑to‑day supervision, making technical decisions based on internal conventions and industry best practices.
• Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions.

• 3+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 5+ years of enterprise backend development experience and bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Strong programming skills and expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Proficiency in backend development with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, Pandas, and Num Py.
• Exposure to one or more server‑side scripting technologies.
• Experience with REST APIs, web services, unit testing, and build tools.
• Good understanding and hands‑on experience with databases such as MySQL and Oracle.
• Strong understanding of web‑based programming languages.
• Rich object‑oriented design and analysis skills.
• Experience refactoring existing codebases and assessing whether to refactor or rewrite.

Primary Location – San Jose, California: $ – $ annually. Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation.
