Role Overview
We are seeking a strong technical engineer with hands-on expertise in developing and executing automated Software Quality Assurance tests for cutting-edge networking chips and systems. This role is critical for managing complex regression testing and ensuring the highest product quality by coordinating closely with multiple global development, QA, and program teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop new test cases and plans based on PRDs and functional specs. Focus areas include L2/L3 technologies, feature interaction, warmboot, ISSU, scale, performance, customer use cases, customer defect uplifts, and API validation.
- Manage the software release cycle by setting up regression testing, monitoring and prioritizing test results, reviewing builds, analyzing build compile errors, communicating build failures, and optimizing long-term maintainability of regression suites across software branches and device variants.
- Adjust execution schedules and priorities in consultation with global QA teams, program management, the QA tools team, and lab/build managers.
- Identify offending commits in build breakages, debug regression failures to determine root causes, and review test libraries written by peer team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field and 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, specifically testing networking products.
- Strong knowledge of L2/L3 Technologies (VLAN, STP, Switching, Routing, NAT, Multicast, ECMP, ACL) and Data Center technologies (VxLAN, BGP, eVPN, MPLS). Experience with Ixia test equipment.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, TCL, data formats (HTML, XML, JSON) and MySQL. Ability to understand C, Perl and Unix Shell programming.
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, bug tracking and project management tools such as JIRA, and version control systems like Git.
The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $192,000.
Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive a competitive new hire equity grant, as well as annual equity awards.
