Software Engineering Senior Supervisor – Applied Signal Technology

Reporting to:
Software Systems/System Development Department Manager.

• First‑line management of a team of 8–10 software engineers across various contracts.
• Plan and track staff task assignments.
• Support staff career development planning.
• Prepare and communicate staff performance evaluations.
• Assist in strengthening staff core engineering skills, domain knowledge and expertise.
• Plan and address engineering staffing needs.
• Assist and support recruiting and interviewing activities.
• Ensure staff compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of software, including new work products or enhancements of existing applications and systems.
• Design, code, test, integrate and document software solutions.
• Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineering professionals.
• Follow development practices and processes for configuration management.
• Participate in advancement of the software development environment and Dev Ops practices.

• Degree in a STEM field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years developing in modern programming languages (C++, Java) in a Linux environment.
• Experience in telecommunications, data communications, wireless communications, communications protocols, networking protocols, or digital signal processing.
• Strong emotional intelligence.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience as a software engineering section/front‑line manager preferred.
• Microservices architecture, distributed systems, containerized deployments, and modern cloud technologies preferred.
• RESTful APIs, messaging queue technologies (Kafka, Rabbit
  
  MQ) preferred.
• All phases of the software development lifecycle, Agile, and Dev Ops/Dev Sec Ops  experience preferred.
• Embedded software development and software/hardware integration experience preferred.
• Coaching, mentoring and teaching skills preferred.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph preferred.
