Responsibilities
The TIGE (Traffic Infrastructure Global Engineering) team serves as the world's premier edge cloud computing and CDN service, offering enterprise users with Content Delivery Network, Edge AI, Edge Security, Edge Computing services, and Traffic Platform services. Our team is responsible for developing and managing edge cloud, CDN and traffic technologies to support billions of users and ensure performance, compliance, security and cost efficiency.
We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2026. Internships at Bytedance aim to offer students industry exposure and hands‑on experience. The internship runs for 12 weeks.

Candidates who pass resume screening will be invited to participate in Byte Dance's technical online assessment.
Key Responsibilities- Researching and developing advanced algorithms or systems to enhance Byte Dance's overseas infrastructure platform in reliability, performance, efficiency, resource allocation, and feature capability.
- Working with platform development teams to enrich the maturity of our content delivery system to support rapid growth of Byte Dance products, e.g. Tik Tok, Cap Cut, Lemon8, etc.
- Proposing and developing advanced and practical solutions to enhance metrics like cost efficiency, traffic optimization, virtualization performance, availability, stability, and resource efficiency.
- Collaborating with a team and leading the full lifecycle of project development, including trend investigation, solution design, implementation, and validation.
- Currently pursuing an advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong independent thinking and problem‑solving capability.
- Experience with programming languages such as Golang, Python, Java, C/C++, or similar.
- Knowledge of algorithms and software development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Background in networking, load balancing, distributed systems or large-scale dynamic systems.
- Knowledge of performance metrics, data/cost modeling and real‑time systems.
- Experience with system virtualization in VM, container, or networking.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud‑native technologies.
- Experience with AI platform, AI workload engine, or AI specific infrastructure.
- Must be able to commit to a 12‑week full‑time work period during Summer or Fall 2026.
Compensation:
Hourly rate $45 per hour for campus interns.
Interns have day‑one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half). Interns who are not fully remote may also be eligible for a housing allowance. Benefits may vary by location.
