The MBRDNA Autonomous Driving Team is looking for motivated and passionate and self‑driven engineers who will help to integrate our ADAS software package into Mercedes‑Benz vehicles. Our Team is working with global teams and partners to create SW Packages that can be rolled out to a large fleet of development vehicles all over the world. This Team is responsible for providing development and pre‑production vehicles.
Furthermore, we are supporting the pre‑production vehicle phase until the products reach the end‑customer.
Your role as a seasoned individual contributor is to develop, verify, and document software packages to use them for V&V activities. This involves flashing ECUs, verifying vehicle readiness, and performing test drives. The role requires troubleshooting and debugging issues on software and signal level independently with limited supervision. We expect you to coordinate with the global team on a day‑to‑day basis and drive topics individually.
You will get the chance to experience the next generation Mercedes‑Benz ADAS Systems along its way to the customer.
Relocation assistance (domestic or international) is not provided for this position.
Job Responsibilities:- Integrate software packages into the computing platforms (QNX, Linux).
- Have a clear understanding of the software architecture of our ADAS Stack.
- Debug issues especially on the communication between ADAS and rest of vehicle ECUs via signal chain analysis.
- Problems faced are complex and may require understanding of broader set of issues using prior experience and systematic analysis.
- You are expected to drive the root cause analysis across complex signal chain on bus level using CANoe, Wireshark, etc.
- Implementation of automation for triaging and analysis to improve day to day processes within the team.
- Collaboration with international development teams and other external and internal partners to increase working efficiency.
- Understand and familiarize with software release planning, release milestones and incorporate this into decisions.
- Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Physics, Electric or related fields
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Excellent skills in software development and programming (C++, Python, bash,…)
- Experience with debugging and analysis tools like CANoe, Wireshark or others
- Experience in the development or validation of embedded systems in the automotive or consumer electronics industries
- Knowledge about ADAS/AD functions in scope for L2/L3 automated driving
- Experience with E/E integration and signal tracing as well as automotive communication protocols (CAN, Flex Ray, Ethernet, MOST, …)
- Knowledge about build systems and compute platforms
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing boundary conditions
- Good communication skills, ability to formulate thoughts and ideas precisely in verbal and written form
- Occasional international travel might be required
- Valid US driver’s license
- Knowledge about vehicles in general or any specific field like sensors, ECUs, etc
- Excellent communication skills
- Curious, self‑motivated, and excited about solving open‑ended challenges at Mercedes‑Benz
The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, job‑related education, skills, and experience, geographic location, and market conditions. The current salary range for this position is as follows and may be modified in the future: $111,500 - $139,500.
