Responsibilities
About the team:
The Global Payments team is building a platform to provide cross-border payment solutions for all Byte Dance's products and services, such as Tik Tok, Helo, Games, Education, etc.
We are looking for a self-driven software engineer to drive payment risk & compliance backend development, and protect users, merchants, and the platform in the payment ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to partner closely with globalized engineering and product teams in a high-impact and fast-paced environment.
- Participate in payment risk & compliance backend development, to provide the best payment experience to billions of users
- Work with different stakeholders to decide project priorities, define product deliverables, and drive technical initiatives from execution to landing
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors
- Experience in building modern payment systems; experience in Risk & Compliance is a bonus point
- Proficient in one or multiple programming languages, e.g. Go, C/C++, Java, Python, etc.
- Experience in the distributed system, backend API development and related fields
- Good product sense, experience in building large-scale consumer-facing product
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Job InformationCompensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $156,000 - $387,600 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
