Talos Intelligence Delivery Engineering organization plays a pivotal role in providing critical security intelligence, data, and tools to both the research teams and Cisco security email, web, enterprise networking, and firewall products to protect our enterprise customers from cyberattacks.
What You’ll DoYou will be responsible for being the technical expert and architect who oversees a portfolio of backend security software applications in the cloud environment to integrate with Splunk platforms, foster cross‑functional relationships, and excel in communicating complex topics to both internal and external audiences. You will closely collaborate with both Talos internal and external technical experts to both innovate and maintain these mission‑critical systems from a technical perspective.
Project delivery requires adherence to effective delivery processes, specifically Cisco Agile.
You are experienced in providing technical leadership to solve business problems.
You have 10+ years of product development and integration, with expertise in security intelligence, application programming, machine‑generated data, and threat intelligence research.
Role & Responsibilities- Your primary role to begin with is to focus on integrating our security backend systems with Splunk platforms. You are to orchestrate seamless end‑to‑end data exchange and connections among diverse security software applications to create system solutions.
- You are to define requirements, design system architecture, and work with Dev Ops teams to implement solutions.
- You have strong communication skills to proactively represent the team in meetings, write architectural reference documents, detailed functional and cross‑functional requirements, conduct technical discussions with Dev Ops team leads and members, present high‑level product and/or integration plans to senior management, and report project status to managers.
- You are passionate to provide technical leadership to make everyone around you better.
- You are team oriented and will enthusiastically unite diverse teams across the globe to tackle complex problems effectively.
- You’ll begin as a contingent worker with the potential to transition to a Full‑Time Employee (FTE) without any penalties from your agency.
- You look at the big‑picture and are able to turn ideas into demos, demos into shippable products, and data into efficacy.
- You are comfortable with early‑ and late‑phase software development, from concept to execution and performance optimization.
- You take hands‑on ownership of the backend products from top to bottom: architecture, design, development, documentation, test, deployment, and operations.
- You have the discernment to know when you need a rocket ship and when you need a bicycle, and the organizational skills to plan and deliver either one.
- Prior technical solutions architect a must
- Experience in data analytics, searching, monitoring, processing data
- Splunk experience a big plus
- Strong AWS architecture skills architecture a requirement
- Networking expertise in Big Data offering a requirement
- Cloud, Email and Web security experience a huge plus
- Python, Golang, and Scala programming skills a big plus
- Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban development
- At least a BS/BA in a technical field (CS/CE ideal). MS or PhD preferred
