General : Machine Learning Engineer Graduate; Data and Eng, USDS MS

Machine Learning Engineer (Data and Eng, USDS) - 5 Start (MS) role at Tik Tok.

• Participate in building large-scale (10 million to 100 million) recommendation or search algorithms and systems.
• Build long- and short-term user interest models, analyze large volumes of diverse data, and design algorithms to efficiently explore latent user interests.
• Design, develop, evaluate, and iterate on predictive models for candidate generation and ranking (e.g., Click Through Rate and Conversion Rate prediction), including real-time data pipelines, feature engineering, model optimization, and innovation.
• Design and build supporting/debugging tools as needed.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office work 3 days per week, or as directed by the manager. The hybrid model is reviewed regularly and requirements may change.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong programming and problem-solving ability.
• PhD new grads or MS grads with 1-3 years of experience in applied machine learning, familiar with one or more algorithms such as Collaborative Filtering, Matrix Factorization, Factorization Machines, Word2vec, Logistic Regression, Gradient Boosting Trees, Deep Neural Networks, Wide and Deep, etc.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as Tensor Flow or PyTorch.
• Experience with at least one programming language such as C++ or Python (or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in recommendation systems, online advertising, information retrieval, natural language processing, machine learning, large-scale data mining, or related fields.
• Publications at KDD, NeurIPS,(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). SIGIR, WSDM, ICML, IJCAI, AAAI, RECSYS, or experience in data mining/machine learning competitions (e.g., Kaggle).

General Hire means this position is available for multiple departments. The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $118657 - $187200 annually. Compensation may vary based on factors including qualifications, skills, and location. Base pay is part of the Total Package and this role may be eligible for bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units. Benefits vary by location and employment type.
