• Enhance search recommendation services and models for Tik Tok, driving increased search traffic on Tik Tok and Tik Tok Mall, while improving users' search understanding.
• Optimize the recommender system based on hyperscale machine learning models, covering tasks from recall/first-stage ranking to final-stage ranking in the end-to-end workflow.
• Explore the upper limits of short text recommendation and general recommendation technology, focusing on the interaction between recommendation and NLP technology.

• Minimum 3+ years of work experience in machine learning with a strong product sense and focus on user experience.
• Bachelor or advanced degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
• Excellent coding skills with solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Excellent analytical, modeling, and problem‑solving skills, able to uncover core problems in complex data.

The base salary range for this position in San Jose is $122,574–$316,800 annually. Compensation may vary outside this range based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. Base pay is one part of a total package that may include additional discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
