The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team drives the vision for AI across Capital One. We collaborate with partners across the organization to advance scientific research, build proprietary AI platforms, and deliver value to millions of customers.

• Define the strategic vision, roadmap, and growth of an autonomous AI platform, aligning it with business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for the design, development, testing, and deployment of agentic workflows across Capital One.
• Oversee the entire platform lifecycle—from integration of AI solutions to decommissioning legacy offerings—ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Guide technical teams, establish best practices for AI orchestration, MLOps, and application development.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, product management, sales, and engineering to align platform capabilities with business goals.
• Champion the platform, communicating its strategic value to executives and influencing enterprise decision‑making.
• Drive a culture of innovation and adoption of AI‑powered tools throughout the organization.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, ethical AI best practices, and regulatory standards.
• Make strategic build‑vs‑buy decisions across a broad set of open‑source and SaaS AI technologies.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long‑term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.
• Attract, retain, and develop top AI talent, fostering learning and staying abreast of state‑of‑the‑art research.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field plus at least 8 years of AI/ML algorithm or technology development experience; or Master’s degree plus at least 6 years of similar experience.
• At least 3 years of people‑leadership experience.

• 5 years of experience managing and leading an engineering team.
• 7 years of experience deploying scalable, responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud).
• Hands‑on experience developing AI and ML algorithms in languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex AI concepts to peers.
