About the team:
Our Browser Kernel and Cross Platform team focuses on building a high performance browser engine and cross platform mobile framework. The browser engine and cross platform framework are widely used by Byte Dance applications, providing high performance, development productivity and flexibility for those applications. In this role, you will focus on making the browser engine and framework more performant, productive and useful.

You will be focused on delivering a high quality UI rendering engine, with the aim of keeping high performance and cross-platform compatibility. Also as a key member of the team, you will design the architecture and implement key features of the cross platform application framework. As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience.

You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early. Successful candidates must be able to commit to at least 3 months long internship period.

- Work closely with product teams to build innovative and performant cross-platform application framework.

- Design, implement, maintain and improve the architecture of cross-platform application framework.

- Analyze and optimize the UI rendering performance, improve code quality and efficiency.

- Carry out code reviews to guarantee code quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently pursuing PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline. Proficiency in coding & scripting languages such as C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Objective-C, or Swift. Technical knowledge of mobile application (Android/iOS) development. Good team communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior internship experience in mobile development (Android/iOS apps). Development experience with cross platform frameworks such as Flutter.
