Senior Machine Learning Engineer / ML Scientist — Fraud Detection
Remote (United States) | Full-Time
Salary $140k - 210K base
About the RoleWe are hiring Senior Machine Learning Engineers / ML Scientists to build and scale fraud detection systems that power real-time decisions in e-commerce. This is a high-ownership role where you will design, experiment, and deploy models that directly impact transaction outcomes will work on complex, high-volume systems and take models from concept through production, owning both the technical and business impact
What You’ll Work On- Build and deploy machine learning models for fraud detection at scale
- Develop advanced modeling approaches (e.g., ensemble models, decision system)
- Design and improve offline evaluation frameworks for model performance
- Enable rapid experimentation by building scalable ML pipelines
- Partner with product, risk, and engineering teams to solve real-world business problems
- Own the full lifecycle of models: from problem definition to monitoring in production
- Contribute to best practices in model testing, evaluation, and performance tracking
- 4–6+ years of experience in production machine learning environments
- Strong foundation in statistical modeling, experimentation, and evaluation
- Proven experience building machine learning solutions from scratch
- Hands‑on experience with distributed data processing (Spark required)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience deploying and evaluating models in real-world systems
- PhD or advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Experience in fraud detection, payments, risk modeling, or related domains
- Strong emphasis on experimentation and statistical rigor
- High ownership across the full ML lifecycle

- Base salary: $140,000 – $210,000 (depending on location and experience)
- Annual bonus up to 10%
