Job Description & How to Apply Below

Altera is a global leader in programmable logic solutions, delivering cutting‑edge FPGA, SoC, and software technologies that enable innovation across data centers, AI, automotive, communications, and embedded systems. We are committed to building highly scalable, resilient, and intelligent software platforms that power next‑generation semiconductor design at global scale.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Dev Ops CI/CD Software Engineering Manager to lead the design, implementation, and operation of advanced CI/CD platforms supporting EDA tool chains and large‑scale, mission‑critical software systems. This role combines technical depth with people leadership, requiring a strong ability to build and mentor high‑performing teams while driving strategic Dev Ops initiatives across the organization. As a leader, you will define and execute the roadmap for CI/CD infrastructure, partner with cross‑functional engineering and silicon design teams, and establish best practices that enable scalable, reliable, and high‑velocity development workflows.

You will play a critical role in elevating engineering productivity, quality, and operational excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Dev Ops and CI/CD engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Own the architecture, scalability, and reliability of enterprise‑wide CI/CD platforms supporting EDA and large‑scale software systems.
  • Define and drive the CI/CD and automation strategy, aligning with broader engineering and business objectives.
  • Partner with software engineering, FPGA/ASIC design, and validation leadership to streamline development, integration, and release processes.
  • Oversee the development of robust automation frameworks for build, test, release, and infrastructure orchestration.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for version control, branching strategies, artifact management, and release governance.
  • Drive adoption of AI/ML‑driven automation and observability to improve pipeline efficiency, detect issues early, and reduce cycle time.
  • Ensure production CI/CD systems meet high standards for availability, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts across CI/CD infrastructure.
  • Influence and guide organizational Dev Ops maturity, setting standards and driving consistency across teams.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Dev Ops, infrastructure engineering, or build/release engineering, with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • 3+ years of experience managing or leading high‑performing engineering teams.
  • Proven experience architecting and operating large‑scale CI/CD systems in complex, multi‑repository environments.
  • Strong background supporting EDA workflows (simulation, synthesis, verification, or related flows).
  • Deep expertise in CI/CD tools and frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions) at enterprise scale.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting (Python, Bash, Go, or similar) with a focus on automation.
  • Strong Linux systems expertise and operational troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence technical direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying AI/ML techniques for intelligent automation, observability, or anomaly detection.
  • Background in semiconductor, FPGA, or ASIC development environments.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of software security, compliance, and supply chain integrity best practices.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive‑level presentation skills.
