Sr. MTS, Software Engineer

Job Summary

Pay Pal, Inc. seeks Sr. MTS, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA.

• Design and implement new, highly scalable, resilient, and available services/microservices, publishers/subscribers, and batch processes.
• Create high‑level and detailed technical design documents aligned with business requirements and technical aspects.
• Collaborate with architects and the design review board in San Jose to align with Pay Pal Roadmap on new products and technology‑platform changes for Payments Data Services.
• Conduct design reviews for all projects developed in the Payment Data Services Platform.
• Review and approve all code pull requests.
• Participate in partial telecommuting from within a commutable distance.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field and two years of related experience; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field and five years of progressively responsible experience.

• Software development, design, and implementation.
• Building highly available, fault‑tolerant services using Java/J2EE frameworks (Spring, Struts, Hibernate, Rest Easy).
• Object‑oriented programming using Java/J2EE.
• Database design and multithreaded programming.
• Version control tools (Git, SVN).
• Testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, Power Mock, Selenium).
• Continuous integration systems (Hudson/Jenkins) and bug‑tracking tool (JIRA).
• Design patterns and algorithmic concepts.

• Experience in Payments Data Services platforms.
• Knowledge of publishers/subscribers architecture.

Salary: $ – $ per annum

Standard workweek: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation.
