About the team and role:We are the eBay Frameworks Team! We're looking for a Platform Engineer to join us in our San Jose, CA location to help build the tools that power eBay's web experience.
You'll work on our Node.js Developer Platform and Micro UI Solutions at eBay (MUSE), a lightweight React-based framework used across eBay, helping thousands of developers ship fast, reliable experiences.
If you want to build platforms used by hundreds of teams and millions of customers, work with a global group of engineers, partnering closely with our US teammates, grow your skills in modern web platforms, automation, and developer experience and build scalable, developer-focused platforms at eBay this is the role for you!
What you will accomplish:- Build and ship features for our Node.js and MUSE frameworks.
- Support developers: debug issues, triage requests, and help in Slack.
- Own operations: monthly releases, Node.js runtime upgrades, and maintenance.
- Automate tooling for upgrades; improve CI/CD with NPM, Docker, and Jenkins.
- Integrate with core systems like SSO, cloud services, logging, metrics, and security.
- Drive performance and security: test, optimize, and keep dependencies up to date.
- 4+ years of software development experience.
- Strong skills in JavaScript, Type Script, Node.js, and React.
- Experience with modern web tech:
React, Webpack, Vite. - Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with developer tooling and workflows.
- Experience building REST and GraphQL APIs.
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below: $147,200 - $196,500. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
