Senior Engineer, AI Edge

The Opportunity

Adobe's AI Edge team builds foundational capabilities for the next generation of creative agents. We work ahead of the production roadmap. We turn promising but unreliable AI workflows into practical technology. This technology will support products such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Express, and Firefly.

You will join a small, fast paced team whose members bring a diverse mix of AI, systems, product, and prototyping skills. You will explore new ideas, build working prototypes, evaluate what works, and partner with product teams to carry successful experiments forward. This is a role for someone who enjoys ambiguity, learns quickly, and loves making emerging technology tangible.

• Prototype agentic AI capabilities for creative workflows, from early concept through technical validation.
• Build components for agent planning, tool use, orchestration, streaming, state management, and evaluation.
• Build reusable platform interfaces that can work across different Adobe products and creative surfaces.
• Turn new capabilities into focused, credible prototypes that help teams test assumptions and make decisions quickly.
• Measure quality and reliability, so we can distinguish a compelling demo from a capability ready for broader investment.
• Collaborate with engineers, applied scientists, designers, researchers, and product managers, then help production teams adopt the ideas that prove valuable.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building and shipping real systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-powered applications or agentic systems, such as tool calling, orchestration, retrieval, model APIs, or evaluation.
• The ability to turn an ambiguous idea into a working prototype quickly and improve it through feedback.
• Comfort working across different parts of a system rather than staying within a narrow specialty.
• Clear communication, sound technical judgment, curiosity, and a practical approach to experimentation.
• Preferred qualifications:
  
  Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field or specific skills such as agent frameworks, distributed systems, or creative tools.

Expected Pay Range:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $139,000 -- $257,550 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

In California, the pay range for this position is $177,900 - $257,550.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
