AI-Native Software Engineer (AWS)

Seeking an AI-Native Software Engineer with deep, hands-on AWS experience to build and deploy secure, scalable, customer-facing web applications across On-Prem and Cloud environments. The role requires strong AI-assisted software engineering practices, systems thinking, performance awareness, and the ability to make sound build-versus-managed-service decisions.

• Serve as a software engineer for web application projects hosted On-Prem and Cloud, supporting a large customer base.
• Know when to build and when to reach for a managed AWS service, and justify the trade-off based on the problem.
• Think in systems and evaluate designs critically, whether reviewing AI-generated code or your own architecture, catching subtle bugs, security gaps, or design choices that will not hold up under load or misuse.
• Use spec-driven development with AI as the default way of engineering software.
• Treat performance as a design constraint, not a tuning pass after the fact.
• Pick up new tools and approaches quickly as effective ways of working with AI continue to change.
• Analytically weigh trade-offs, balance competing priorities, and drive decisions that span organizational boundaries.
• Maintain excellent communication and organization skills.

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated fluency in leveraging AI technologies across the entire software development lifecycle, including:
• Breaking down user stories into actionable tasks.
• AI-assisted coding and testing.
• Automated defect resolution.
• Deployment of fully tested software.
• Deep, hands-on experience building and deploying production systems on AWS, including EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, and API Gateway, with a record of real, customer-facing applications running in production.
• Server-side software development experience with Python, Java, NodeJS, and/or other similar technologies.
• Client-side web application development experience using React, Backbone, native JavaScript, and/or other comparable technologies.
• Expertise in building secure, large-scale systems using fault-tolerant technologies such as Elasticsearch, Cockroach DB, Oracle, MongoDB, and Kafka.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions, balance competing priorities, and drive decisions across organizational boundaries.
