The Account team supports identity and access services across Tik Tok and its ecosystem, including commerce, music, live video, and business offerings. This foundational service empowers innovation and business expansion worldwide. Interns will engage with system-level challenges around scalability, reliability, security, and performance. The Account team thus provides a critical infrastructure that facilitates product and service delivery for millions of users and partners.

• Assist in designing, testing, deploying, and maintaining backend services within our distributed systems.
• Work closely with engineers and cross-functional partners to maintain best practices and technical excellence.
• Help analyze and improve system efficiency, scalability, and stability, contributing to system health monitoring and optimization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Programming experience in Go, Java, C++, Python, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with backend development patterns and database fundamentals (e.g. SQL / No
  
  SQL).
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during the Summer of 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience using or developing AI agents and agentic workflows
• High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong learning ability, clear communication, and a strong sense of teamwork and responsibility.
• Proficient in C/C++, Python, and shell programming languages, and have a deep understanding of data structure and algorithm design.

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $45- $45.

• Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more.
• Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year).
• Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
