About the Company
We are a stealth-mode battery startup developing cutting-edge battery technology. Our mission is to revolutionize battery technology to accelerate the global transition to clean energy. By leveraging innovative materials, advanced manufacturing techniques, and next-generation energy storage architectures, we are building the future of sustainable energy.
RoleWe are seeking a skilled Senior OT Software Engineer to join our Operational Technology team to help build a custom industrial platform (built on Ignition/Perspective + PostgreSQL) that connects our manufacturing, R&D, and test equipment into a unified digital backbone as we scale from pilot to full production. We’re looking for a Senior OT Software Engineer to be a hands-on builder of Flux — writing custom Perspective applications, integrating plant-floor and lab equipment, and helping stand up the data pipelines that turn battery test data into decisions.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain custom Perspective applications and modules within custom MES/MOM
Develop scripting (Python/Jython) for Ignition Gateway, tag logic, and UDTs
Architect PostgreSQL schemas and queries supporting MES/MOM workflows
Evaluate and integrate complementary platforms (High Byte Intelligence Hub, Coreflux MQTT broker) into the Flux data architecture
Connect process equipment and battery test equipment to Flux via OPC-UA, MQTT, and other industrial protocols
Build and maintain tag structures, UDTs, and device drivers for new equipment coming online at FR01 and future sites
Partner with process/manufacturing engineers to scope what data needs to flow and why
Design and maintain pipelines moving battery test data from equipment into structured storage for analysis
Collaborate with R&D/data science on data models supporting battery performance analytics
Ensure data quality, lineage, and accessibility across the pipeline
Travel regularly between sites to commission systems and support equipment bring-up
Document architecture and mentor future team members as the OT/MES function grows
Qualifications
Strong software engineering fundamentals: has built and shipped production software, not just scripts — comfortable with version control, testing, structured application design
Strong SQL and relational database design (PostgreSQL preferred)
Demonstrated ability to learn new platforms quickly and independently in an ambiguous, early-stage environment
Comfortable working hands-on with physical equipment and industrial data (even if your prior exposure was in a lab/process setting rather than a plant floor)
3+ years building industrial software solutions, with substantial hands-on Ignition/Perspective experience (or comparable SCADA/MES platform with strong willingness/ability to ramp on Ignition quickly)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with High Byte Intelligence Hub, Coreflux/Solace, or similar edge/data infrastructure tools
Background in battery, chemical process, or manufacturing environments
Data engineering experience (pipeline design, ETL, data modeling)
Experience with industrial protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, or similar)
Advanced degree in engineering or related technical field
Experience scaling systems from pilot to production manufacturing
