Logistics Operations Specialist (San Jose, CA) Job Overview
The Logistics Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting daily logistics and transportation operations to ensure the efficient movement of goods and materials. This role works closely with transportation providers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve shipment issues, maintain compliance with import/export regulations, and ensure accurate processing of logistics-related documentation and invoices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Note:
This is a W2 contract position and is not eligible for C2C or W2 referral candidates.
- Support day-to-day logistics operations, including shipment tracking, transportation coordination, and resolution of shipment discrepancies.
- Monitor and manage shipment exception reports, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions to minimize delivery disruptions.
- Coordinate with customs brokers to resolve customs clearance issues and ensure timely import/export processing.
- Assist with import/export compliance activities, including product classification and regulatory documentation.
- Review, verify, and process logistics vendor invoices for accuracy and timely payment.
- Maintain accurate logistics records and provide reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external logistics partners to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, transportation efficiency, and overall service performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain operations, or import/export compliance.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, formulas, and Pivot Tables.
- Knowledge of import/export processes and customs clearance procedures.
- Experience supporting product classification and compliance activities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) or ERP systems.
- Understanding of international trade regulations and compliance requirements.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently.
- Adaptable and inclusive, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and global environments.

Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm PST
Compensation: $25 - 30 per hour
