Position: Environmental Receiving Technician - Forklift Experience Required

Receiving Technician

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour

Evening shift - 3:00 - 11:30 pm

Summary

The Receiving Technician is responsible for receiving, inspecting, sampling, coding, consolidating, and preparing hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials for processing and shipment in accordance with company, state, federal, and environmental regulations. This is a hands-on industrial role that supports daily facility operations through material handling, forklift operation, inventory management, waste processing, and basic chemical testing.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. Previous warehouse, receiving, material handling, hazardous waste, or similar industrial experience is preferred. Training will be provided for the technical and chemical testing aspects of the position. Forklift experience is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive, inspect, open, sample, and process incoming drums and lab packs in accordance with facility Waste Analysis Plans (WAP) and company procedures.
  • Code and process incoming waste materials for disposal, transportation, and billing purposes using the WIN system and barcode tracking.
  • Perform waste consolidation, repacking, and bulking activities while following established safety procedures.
  • Stage and prepare outbound shipments in accordance with DOT/TDG and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain inventory levels, organize storage areas, and verify incoming shipments against manifests and required documentation.
  • Operate forklifts and other facility equipment safely and perform required daily equipment inspections.
  • Perform basic chemical testing and operate related equipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all Clean Harbors Health & Safety policies.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Previous warehouse, receiving, material handling, industrial, or similar experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Previous hazardous waste, chemical handling, or chemical testing experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely work in an industrial environment and follow established safety procedures.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Windows-based applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, operate forklifts, and perform work in physically demanding conditions.
