Material Handler
Kelly Services is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler responsible for preparing, processing, and shipping customer orders while ensuring accuracy, safety, and on-time delivery. This role supports daily warehouse operations by handling materials, operating warehouse equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and adhering to company quality and safety standards.
Material Handler (Temp)
LOCATION:
San Jose, CA RATE: $28.00/hour SHIFT: 1st Shift SHIFT DAYS/
HOURS:
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday
- Pick, pack, and prepare products for shipment according to customer orders and shipping schedules.
- Verify quantities, part numbers, and product condition before shipment.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Label, package, and stage materials for domestic and international shipments.
- Generate and process shipping documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, and carrier paperwork.
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet shipment deadlines.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions using ERP systems.
- Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies or quality concerns.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and inventory control procedures as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Comply with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and quality standards.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and other warehouse activities as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of warehouse, shipping, logistics, or material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems preferred.
- Ability to read shipping documents, work instructions, and inventory records.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
- Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.
