Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to support the financial operations of a real estate property portfolio. This role focuses on property-level accounting, financial reporting, and collaboration with property management and asset management teams
. The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, hands‑on real estate experience, and is ready to step into a people‑management role.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, and owner/lender reporting packages
- Manage general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations for assigned properties
- Support property managers with budget analysis, variance explanations, and interpretation of financial reports
- Ensure compliance with loan agreements and assist with lender and ownership reporting requirements
- Track job costs, construction draws, and project budgets; assist with project close‑outs
- Review and approve accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor setup
- Assist with quarterly and annual reporting, budgets, and audit coordination
- Participate in accounting system updates and process improvements (Yardi experience preferred)
- Supervise and support a small team of accounting staff
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA designation required
- Approximately 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on property management or real estate accounting
- Experience preparing property‑level financials and working with owners, asset managers, or lenders
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (Yardi or MRI preferred)
- Prior experience leading or mentoring accounting staff is a plus
