Independent Electric Supply, Inc. (IES) is a leading electrical distributor in Southern California and Arizona, seeking a receptionist to manage telephone calls and messages.

RESPONSIBILITIES- This position is responsible for the professional and efficient managing of telephone calls and messages.
- Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department. Keeps a log of calls and information received.
- Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.

- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Typical environments include office, light industrial, commercial, utility and manufacturing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work may include outdoor work exposed to elements and non-conditioned spaces.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSOne to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of office procedures, practices, and etiquette.
- Skill in telephone/receptionist etiquette and courteous communication with public, verbally and in writing.
- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Work confidentially with discretion.
- Work independently with little direction.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Skilled in the operation of a variety of office machines including, personal computers, telephones, and copiers.
- Knowledge of IES computer systems.
- Must be a team player and abide by IES's strong core values and beliefs.
