Special Education Teacher in San Leandro, CA

Seeking a contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher? Heres a rewarding position supporting TK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students in a well-supported educational setting near San Leandro, CA. Youll join a vibrant, collaborative classroom environment from August 13, 2026, through June 4, 2027, working alongside three dedicated paraprofessionals and serving a maximum of twelve students.

• Work full-time, Monday through Friday, during the academic year.
• Serve in a classroom with a low student-to-staff ratio.
• Support students with unique needs while collaborating with passionate educators.

• Active California Moderate/Severe Special Education teaching credentials (required).
• Previous experience (professional, student teaching, or strong practicum) in special education, especially with TK, Kindergarten, or 1st grade populations.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with students, families, and fellow educators.
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and adaptive learning atmosphere.

• Deliver differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs of all students in the classroom.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administration to support student success.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, monitor progress, and maintain compliance with all documentation requirements.
• Create an inclusive, supportive, and structured classroom where every childs strengths are celebrated.
• Actively participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development.
