You will work in a program-team environment, providing technical leadership across requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, optimization, design documentation, assembly, integration, and testing. Hands-on hardware interaction in a lab environment is a key component of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-impact program tasks with limited supervision.
  • Present work to internal and external stakeholders, including customer representatives.
  • Generate Technical Data Package components (part drawings, assembly drawings, etc.).
  • Prototype, integrate, and test component parts and assemblies.
  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures for mechanical subsystems.
  • Conduct component and system-level testing and evaluations.
  • Participate in design reviews including peer reviews, PDRs, and CDRs.
  • Support and implement product changes through review meetings and discussions.
  • Collaborate in interdisciplinary design teams.
  • Follow company processes for design, configuration management, purchasing, and documentation.
  • Provide direction to Designers and Technicians on project tasks.
  • Support field testing and demonstrations as the mechanical engineering representative.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 6 years of relevant experience; OR
  • Graduate degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience; OR
  • 10+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing complex mechanical hardware, including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Skilled in using design tools such as Pro Engineer, AutoCAD, or Solid Works.
  • Familiarity with FEA tools (ANSYS and NASTRAN preferred).
  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation and reports.
  • Experience using MS Office and PLM software.
  • Comfortable with hands-on hardware work in lab environments.
Why You Should Join:

This is an opportunity to play a hands-on, high-impact role creating complex mechanical systems that support national defense missions. You’ll join a tight-knit engineering environment where your ideas are valued, innovation is encouraged, and your work directly influences real-world outcomes.

As a Senior Specialist, you will:

  • Work on cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware with significant technical depth and challenge.
  • Have end-to-end ownership—from concept to qualification—in a team that values autonomy and engineering excellence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts and contribute to programs that demand precision, reliability, and creativity.
  • Grow your technical leadership, present your work to internal and external stakeholders, and shape solutions that support mission success.
  • Be part of a stable, fast-growing defense organization committed to investing in talent and fostering long-term careers.
