Why This Role MattersAs a Senior Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating, installing, repairing, and maintaining critical electrical components across a variety of systems. You will work with several teams to create controls equipment and be a key link between these teams in perpetuating a culture of good communication. Your activities directly support the mission of achieving net facility gain and are expected to involve continued technical and professional growth.
This position is primarily based in San Leandro, CA, with travel required to support installation and commissioning activities in Albuquerque, NM.
What You'll Do- Build Electrical Control cabinets (wall mount, free standing, rack server enclosures)
- Build complex cable harness fabrication
- Schematic interpretation and diagnose circuitry
- Implement signal routing and cable shielding best practices
- Integrate electrical components into large mechanical assemblies
- Work with large and complex systems including vacuum systems
- Configure controls equipment as required
- Document and maintain controls equipment configurations
- Support terminations, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
- Support startup and commissioning of equipment
- Operate independently with minimal guidance and supervision
- 10+ years of hands‑on assembly/testing experience
- Expertise in wiring, soldering, cabinet building, and cable routing (including fine gauge like 36 AWG)
- Strong understanding of detailed schematics, clean labeling, component traceability
- Knowledge of UL 508A, NFPA 70, control systems, and complex signal types (TCP/IP, Ether
CAT, Serial, etc.) - Hands‑on experience with commissioning and operations in industrial, manufacturing, or research facilities
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced build/test/iterate environment
- Associates or technical degree
- Experience with PLCs or IPCs
- EPLAN CAD platform experience
- Experience working in a startup
- Experience in fusion, energy, aerospace, or chemical industries
- Collaboration with engineers, designers, and technicians
$45–$65 USD per hour

Actual base salary will be determined by experience, skills, and work location. This range is for base salary; total compensation includes equity and benefits.
