Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Assembly Own the design and optimization of pouch cell assembly processes on the pilot line About the Role

Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing pouch cell assembly processes.

• Process Ownership & Maturation:
  Develop, document, and stabilize assembly processes specifically for pouch cell manufacturing.
• Sustaining & Optimization:
  Monitor equipment performance, analyze process workflows, and introduce continuous improvements.
• Data‑Driven Troubleshooting:
  Create, plan, and execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) to understand the assembly processing window.
• Adaptability to the Unknown:
  Operate in 'grey areas' where documentation may be incomplete; drive clarity and control.
• Cross‑Functional Alignment:
  Collaborate with R&D, sourcing, and production teams to align pilot line operations with development schedules and cell integration targets. Mentor junior engineers.
• Documentation:
  Develop and iterate SOPs, control plans, and specification requirements as the process matures.
• Vendor Support (As Needed):
  Interface with equipment suppliers to resolve deep technical issues.
• Reporting & Justification:
  Provide regular updates to engineering leadership; use data to recommend modifications or upgrades.
• Safety & Compliance:
  Conduct risk assessments and adhere to safety regulations and policies.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands‑on engineering experience in manufacturing, pilot, or scale‑up environments.
• Minimum 2 years working with battery cell stacking, notching, or assembly equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD design, GD&T, and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Track record of solving complex process engineering issues.
• Strong desire to learn; adaptable to fast‑paced pilot line environments.
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals, statistical concepts, data tools (Excel, MATLAB, JMP, Minitab).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to document processes and present findings.
• Expected to travel < 10%.

• Sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
• Communicate effectively.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Wear personal protective equipment; no physical limitations to PPE use.
• Collaborate well with team members.
• Occasional work in a dry room setting.

Base salary range: $128,200 – $192,400 per year. Additional incentives include tiered bonus, equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO, sick time, 401(k), and relocation plan (if applicable).
