Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems supporting advanced antenna products.
This role is intended for an experienced engineer who brings strong technical leadership, owns complex projects, and drives engineering solutions across disciplines and organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, from component‑level to full system integration
- Own full product lifecycle activities including concept development, detailed design, qualification, and production support
- Develop and review CAD models, drawings, and technical data packages (GD&T per ANSI Y14.5) using PTC Creo
- Perform and/or guide advanced analysis (FEA, hand calculations), leveraging tools such as ANSYS
- Plan, develop, and oversee testing activities, including test plans, procedures, and data analysis
- Lead investigations and resolve complex technical problems using analysis and creative solutions
- Drive moderate to substantial improvements to engineering processes, tools, and methodologies
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical direction to engineers and designers
- Interface directly with customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional stakeholders
- Lead and present at design reviews (internal and external)
- Contribute to departmental goals, planning efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with company processes for quality, configuration management, and product development
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience (or 4+ years with a graduate degree)
- Strong proficiency in CAD design and documentation (PTC Creo preferred)
- Solid understanding of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5)
- Demonstrated experience leading mechanical design efforts or managing projects
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
- Aerospace or defense industry experience
- Experience with Windchill PDM
- FEA experience (ANSYS strongly preferred)
- Expertise in design for manufacturing and producibility
- Experience with composites, machining, and fabrication processes
- Familiarity with RF systems, antennas, or radome design
- Due to specific US Government contract requirements, dual citizenship may not be accepted. This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $100,000 - $185,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. Fisica Inc. also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), PTO, EAP, and company‑paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, and schedule type.
