Summary
This position will leverage technical expertise and knowledge with outside consulting engineers and end‑user customers to create engaging, informative content that assists with project design and influences engineering outcomes toward Peterson Power Systems products and solutions.
Responsibilities- Create trusted relationships with engineering firms through in‑person meetings, virtual meetings, lunch and learns, and conference calls on all Peterson Power Systems offerings including diesel and gaseous generator sets, switch gear, transfer switches, microgrid systems, battery storage, and other new technologies in power generation.
- Meet with outside consulting engineers to influence project development and design around Peterson Power Systems products and solutions.
- Draft Customer Solution Quoter (CSQ) quotes to provide preliminary scope of supply and Rough Order of Magnitude pricing to outside consulting engineers.
- Plan and organize customer events at Peterson University for training on engineering topics and to promote Peterson capabilities and solutions.
- Participate in industry events and conferences to share insights and knowledge with the broader electrical engineering community.
- Join industry associations and attend meetings with the intent to present on technical subjects whenever possible.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute content strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with project management and sales teams to provide feedback and insights on products, services, and industry trends.
- Develop strong relationships with the California sales team to achieve common goals.
- Respond to inquiries for information and proposals from customers and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with management, CAT representatives, third‑party vendors, stakeholders, and customers to ensure timely and accurate proposal preparation, including delivery schedules, performance expectations, and terms and conditions.
- Ensure all required customer paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Provide support to sales, marketing, and project management to ensure proper project execution.
- Travel up to 20% of the time within and outside the territory; personal vehicle required as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum five years of directly related experience in diesel engines, rotating machinery, or electric power distribution systems, preferably in a heavy industrial environment.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
$115,000 - $135,000 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education. A total compensation package is also offered.)
