Job Title
Job Summary:
Enhance equipment reliability and drive plant-wide continuous improvement across maintenance, operations, safety, quality, and training. Implement reliability-centered maintenance practices to reduce downtime and improve asset performance. 1 onsite contract position in San Leandro, CA; 1st shift M-F 8 AM–5 PM; 40 hours/week.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on high-cost failures, high-downtime, and repetitive issues to identify engineering solutions.
- Lead RCA and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) to eliminate chronic equipment problems.
- Develop/optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs using CMMS and condition monitoring tools.
- Analyze equipment trends and downtime data for reliability improvement opportunities.
- Support maintenance planning/scheduling for efficient execution with minimal disruption.
- Collaborate with OEMs/vendors to enhance equipment design, maintainability, and spare parts strategies.
- Facilitate cross-departmental initiatives aligning maintenance, operations, safety, quality, and training goals.
- Champion lean manufacturing and Six Sigma to reduce waste, stabilize processes, and boost uptime.
- Integrate operator care and autonomous maintenance into training and routines.
- Review CMMS/production data; trend performance and modify collection procedures.
- Develop KPIs/dashboards for reliability and improvement progress.
- Conduct life-cycle cost analysis and asset criticality assessments for capital/maintenance strategies.
- Review PPM data vs. histories; adjust frequencies/tasks and verify quality.
- Lead predictive maintenance techniques (vibration, thermography, ultrasound, corrosion, fatigue analysis).
- Participate in capital equipment/modification reviews for maintainability.
- Analyze spare parts for standardization/interchangeability.
- Support skills evaluation/training strategy for plant personnel.
- Improve drawing files and maintenance work productivity analysis.
- Partner with production for reliability improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
- 3–7 years in manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Experience with reliability principles (RCM, FMEA, RCA, TPM).
- Proficiency in CMMS, data analysis (Excel, Power BI), lean/Six Sigma.
- Strong reliability engineering principles including RCM, FMEA, RCA, TPM.
- Proficiency with CMMS platforms and data analytics tools.
- Equipment performance trending, downtime analysis, maintenance program optimization.
- Cross-functional collaboration with production, quality, vendors.
- Excellent communication and leadership with collaborative mindset.
- Ability to promote ownership, accountability, proactive problem-solving.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred.
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) preferred.
- Onsite in food manufacturing facility.
